My (Not So) Secret Project
A new series in the works
You may have seen that back in April I wrote a book in a month! It was the fastest I’ve completed something of that length (45,000 words!). It also happens to be one of the best things I’ve ever written from a technical standpoint.
When I first started writing, out from the shadow of grief after my father passed away, I hadn’t written since college. I’d forgotten basic structure and was too gung-ho to dive into that book that I didn’t bother to look it up.
Even though I’m well read and followed a general beat sheet, my first book is filled with info dumps and bloated world building that I’m still working to edit down.
Since then, I’ve written my serial novel Short Cuts which is six short stories that build one overarching storyline, a Valentines Day special episode, a short story1 in the same world of Short Cuts, and now this new novella!
The novella technically also takes place in the same world, the city is briefly mentioned in Episode Four. But unlike Short Cuts which if full of cameos and Easter eggs from other stories in my world, this new series is more separate.
Okay, I think I’ve teased this long enough!
